I tracked down most of TGC's former major design looks and made screen captures. You can click on them for larger versions... best viewed on a screen larger than your phone!

Meanwhile, I'm still collecting old banners. I made the unfortunate mistake earlier this year of deleting a bunch of them from an old google account when I was attempting to minimize my web presence and was under the assumption that we'd never again bring the old girl back! Oh well, let the hunt continue!

Amazing. Especially the bottom one, still with the link to SwFans. It's the names that get mentioned as much as anything.

No idea what you were thinking with the dark red phase!

I'm not really sure either. But I have a hunch that a banner was made first and that informed the colors.

i'm happy to report that I think I was able to track down everything that I deleted, which included a load more faction banners as well as some TGC banners.

Brilliant.

Remember when sidebars were all the rage? And there was a flurry of little sidebar width buttons for factions and groups, I see a few of them on your link. So much history.

Yeah, we were so happy when Ezboard finally gave us access to areas where we could use code to alter the shape of the board. We were so proud of learning the code to make sidebars. They really opened us up to sharing a lot of information.

It became a bit of a badge of honour, having the knowledge to do the in fashion things that came along. The HTML tabled sigs? You can do those? WOW, could you make me one?!

It was the same with sidebars, "Person X knows how to make a sidebar", "No way! I wonder if they'll show me?"

If I can master this malarkey, maybe I should knock up a retro board with a sidebar. We used to fill it with Top 5 Most Wanted didn't we?!
