11%? Wouldn't need too many of them before you're wobbling!

I'll tell you what I'm not drinking. Pepsi. This year in the UK they have changed the recipie, reducing the sugar by nearly half and replacing it with sweetners. It's all about money, the sweetners are cheaper and it will mean they can get around the fairly recently implemented sugar tax we have over here. The result is a disgusting drink. I've been a Pepsi obsessive since I was about 11. I won't drink the UK stuff anymore. Fortunately we have a Kurdish shop that's a five minute walk from my house and they import the vast majority of their stock and nearly always have foreign Pepsi on their shelves, so I can still get my hit that way.

I haven't had an alcoholic drink for 8 days, which for me is quite good. I don't think I've gone over a week without a drink for years. It will end tomorrow as my team, Norwich City, are playing at home and I always have a couple of beers in the pub on the way to the ground.

Yeah, it's quite a strong beer, although there are many that are stronger yet. For me the sweet spot is right around 8 percent though.

I was a regular Pepsi drinker as a kid but became a diet Pepsi fan later. I actually prefer my soda a little less sweet.

You'd probably love the new UK Pepsi. I hate it.

Now, I'm drinking a nice cup of tea.

Gonna crack open a 4 pack of probably my favorite beer, and my go to.

BREAKFAST STOUT
DOUBLE CHOCOLATE COFFEE OATMEAL STOUT
ABV: 8.3%
IBUs: 60
RateBeer Rating: 100
Availability: Year-Round
The coffee lover’s consummate beer. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and imported chocolates, and two types of coffee, this stout has an intense fresh-roasted java nose topped with a frothy, cinnamon-colored head that goes forever.

I know you Brits are allegedly all crazy about your tea. The main way I consume tea though is iced and unsweetened in the summer. Very refreshing. This time of year, when its cold, I do occasionally drink hot tea or herbal tea to help clear up my congestion from allergies.

I never did catch the coffee drinking fever, like many Americans... but as you can see above, I do enjoy coffee as an adjunct in some beers.

Water

May drink one more 4 pack of my favorite stout before new year, and then I'm on the wagon for awhile in order to better focus fitness and some other things for awhile.

KBS
BOURBON BARREL-AGED CHOCOLATE COFFEE STOUT
ABV: 12%
IBUs: 45
Calories: 340
RateBeer Rating: 100
Availability: Jan-Dec
This beer taught us that patience truly is a virtue. KBS is a big imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolate and then bourbon barrel-aged to perfection. Incredibly silky and full-bodied with notes of vanilla, cocoa, roasted coffee and charred oak.

I'm on a bit of a health drive at the moment. Not sure how long it's going to last, but for now at least I am restricting my alcohol consumption to Friday and Saturday.

As I have pretty poor willpower where alcohol is concerned, that means going out on Friday to buy what I will drink that evening, so means I have to swerve the whisky. If I buy a bottle to have a couple of drinks on Friday and then again on Saturday, there will still be half a bottle in the house and I can guarantee it will be gone within a couple of days. It's like the Jumanji board game when I have it in the house, it's calling out to me with an incessant drumbeat.

So it's just a couple of bottles of fizzy lager on a Friday and Saturday evening for me at the moment!

I'm drinking a Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA.
9.0%ABV

Yeah, its tough to quit. But my sister always used to say "god hates as quitter.!" hehe!

From your posts I gather that you enjoy the art/craft behind a great whisky. I feel the same way about craft beer. For me, great beer is like great music, literature or cinema. There is this whole societal apparatus set up make people feel guilty about a little indulgence.
