I'm sure you've already noticed, but we're fast approaching November 1st. I can't help but daydream about the quarter century milestone coming next year. Celebrating through out an entire year might be just the right angle to use when promoting the board. Thoughts?

Maybe a series of countdown from 25 threads. 25 historic RPs, 25 historic characters, 25 historic factions. Not necessarily worst to best or anything subjective like that, just a spotlight on each for a few days, with a new one posted roughly every fortnight between now and the big anniversary.

Ideally we would have people around to suggest threads and do the writing, but it doesn't look like that's a possibility just yet. We do have the old hall of fame which already has characters, factions and role-plays ranked by the members via a vote the last time I revised it.

I'd also like to do some new writing about TGC, even if its just a couple thousand words putting the whole history into perspective with my life today. You could do something similar.

I like the sound of that. I often get the urge to write, but struggle with coming up with ideas.

I grew up with a desire to write, went to college to learn how, and that experience ruined my self-esteem to do it. I learned a lot, and I'm glad I got the education. These days I'm much more video focused.

Occasionally I get the urge to just physically write. I've got a fancy fountain pen that my late father-in-law gave me and there are times I just like to write stuff with it, even if it's just gibberish.

For the past two weeks I've been forcing myself to write something everyday. Sometimes its just "journaling," other times its a bit of fiction. I'm trying to treat it like running. To be a runner you have to train. I used to purposely go on running streaks where I would attempt to run for as many days consecutively as I could. Over many days, weeks, months and years you eventually get good at it. You just have to build the muscles.

I specifically requested an A4 notepad and set of pens last Christmas with the intention of regularly journaling, in part as a means of recording moments of the kids growing up which is happening too fast. I kept it up until about April but then stopped.

Yeah, I'm thinking about upgrading my phone to one with a better camera. I don't know though, I think I'm more inclined to read something when I want to remember a certain time that load up a device and watch a video. I kept a journal for my trip to Disney World and have read through that two or three times already.
