Pepsi v Coca-Cola - Danster - 02-05-2024

2023 was a sad, sad year for me.

I have adored Pepsi from a young age and used to consume unhealthy amounts of it (well in excess of a litre a day, every day). A few years back I recognised it was a bit out of control and made a rule that I wasn't allowed to drink it when at home or at work, only when I was out and about.

However, last year Pepsi changed the recipie to reduce the amount of sugar by 49%, and replace it with rank sweeteners. Ridiculous, as they have the Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Max options. As a result, it is now disgusting. So I have converted to Coca-Cola. Absolutely unthinkable this time last year.

I drank regular Pepsi up until my 20's, and then switched to Diet Pepsi which I prefer. I cut back or quit periodically, but always end up drinking too much of it again after a few months.

I remember as a kid when junk food and drink was relatively expensive and was something we'd get as a treat. Now we always have a 12 or 24 pack of cans in the house, and its been that way for years.

When I was training and racing hard I did like to drink a little bit of Coke to get quick calories during the middle of a long run or race. Lots of calories and pretty easy on the stomach, and didn't taste too bad if you had to drink it warm.

.....coke is the best ya' know!

RE: Pepsi v Coca-Cola - Danster - 08-06-2024

This time last year I would have argued strongly against that assertion, but they have absolutely ruined Pepsi in the UK.

That's too bad.

I should probably have taken it as an opportunity to wean myself off it completely as it's really bad for you, but now I'm almost as into Coca-Cola as I was into Pepsi for all those years!

It's not that bad for you, just drink it in moderation.
