RE: What the hell do you want? - General Ceel - 09-17-2023 ...or maybe the next day! hehe! RE: What the hell do you want? - Danster - 09-17-2023 Actually yeah, the day after next sounds much better! I'll state here and now, rather than drive the kids to school tomorrow, I'm gonna jog in whilst they head in on their scooters, and then jog back too. It's 1.6 miles away, so will be a decent enough round trip. I say that now at 10:30pm GMT, thought I am halfway through my fourth can of Birra Moretti, so what will probably happen is that I will wake up from bed just before the kids need to leave and have a mad dash to get ready and then have to drive in, else they'll be late for school (my wife works early so will have left the house before I've even gotten out of bed). RE: What the hell do you want? - General Ceel - 09-17-2023 "Run commuting" to and from places you need to be is a great way to get in shape. RE: What the hell do you want? - Danster - 09-18-2023 I actually did it, kids scooted whilst I jogged along behind keeping up with them, got a little breather whilst I dropped them at school and then ran back. Only a little over 3 miles but it's a start. I actually refereed my boy's football (soccer) match yesterday and that probably deceptively burns a few calories, I was on my feet for over an hour constantly moving around and occasionally bursting into a run to keep up with play. My legs were a little achey this morning so it must have done something. RE: What the hell do you want? - General Ceel - 09-18-2023 Yep, some general soreness is a pretty good sign of a training response. RE: What the hell do you want? - Danster - 09-19-2023 Biked to work today, which given the weather forecast I'm quite pleased about, as it would have been an easy excuse to say "Oh, it might rain, I'll take the car". But I left my road bike in the garage and took the mountain bike. RE: What the hell do you want? - General Ceel - 09-27-2023 nice! |
